Let’s Clay With Fire II 2015 – Secret Log Kiln.

Returning to ceramics after the 2D project Yellow Spectral Sun Living in the Window for the End of Time was winding down, Ken Ford returned to basics with his ceramic processes. Part of this return was the Secret Log Kiln, a rudimentary experimental kiln based on observations during bush fires. 2 logs next to each other creating a channel for flames to flow. With sheets of corrogated iron as a lid temperatures approaching raku were anticipated. The results were encouraging. Alchemy at a basic level.
